Just thought i would share my happiness with you all. had a spare day on sat so thought i would finally do my crossmember. set to it at 9.30 am and with 30 min dinner and my friend doing the welding it was all done at 17.30. well nearly I just have to solder the wiring loom back together...

A very good idea and I would have no worries about having it in my vehicle but let's face it we will never see a drop in premiums. Personally I think it should based on distance to work out the cost.

have you emailed them? i have in the past from the us and they send it from the post office at a fraction of the cost. takes longer though

Only went for the day but I wish we had camped. Had a fantastic time and my defender drove sweet as a nut. Though after 250 miles I was knackered when I got home. Does any one have any idea how much was raised? And I hope we got the record

yup mine has gone too. with any luck we should get some information back soon. still gutted i was not able to camp out it would have been a good laugh.

is it actually legal to do that? only thing i was a little unsure about with having mine done was the gearbox chassis brace. as i doubt it would fit after both it and the chassis had been dipped.

Is it not a waste of a good chassis though. What sort of time scale do you think to swap things over

I have 4 months tax left on my 1987 110 sw and am having a crazy idea of taking her off the rd to start a restoration when it runs out. was thinking about getting the chassis galvinized as it is absolutly solid and still has alot of the original paint. the only thing bad is the usual cross...

The real shame out of all this is that it is still so easy to pass on stolen vehicles and parts. I posted a Fred the other month about how to check if a second hand engine was stolen or not. Turns out it's practically impossible. Think there should be a national database avail to the public...

Yeah I also sent a cheque for £44 for me and the mrs. I hope I sent enough. Not bothered if the £20 also gets the driver into the museum as it's a fantastic charity and I will be donating and buying more there.
