I put what oil i had in rear diff last night, still wants more, theres a neat pile of rat poo on the manifold so i think its been sitting a long while. Will top up everything and replace front prop shaft myself if that doesnt cure it i will see a mechanic. Thanks for replies.

Hello, ive been a land rover owner since last september, ex-mod 109 2.25 petrol 1980. Landy has since developed an awful noise when engine braking, sounds like a dinosaur with a sore tummy, really getting embarrassing. I think its coming from the front and have changed oil in the main gearbox...
