    Hi thanks for the response - the TD4 sounds perfectly OK for my use, but I guess the only way to be sure is to drive both types. Do you happen to know how the TD4 performs with an auto gearbox? Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi - I am planning to buy a 1-2 year old Freelander 2 in the next few months. I read in some reviews the 2.2D TD4 (150bhp) is underpowered; in others it says it is perfectly OK for normal use. Other reviews say the SD4 (190bhp) is over-powered for the auto box. I would be glad of some advice...
