Having the same problem, then I found it!! almost as it was part of the pollen filter, problem then the reader wouldnt link back to the old fashend way i guess.

Hi Back again. I have now removed the front N/S wheel hub by detaching the c/v joint and have the hub with propshaft off the vehicle. I have tried the sledge hammer with no success to remove the driveshaft, then as I am fortunate to have obtained a 10 ton press, I have heated up the hub for 20...

Thanks it will have to do untill next week I need to replace the puller first and do some paid work. Will let you know what happens. I have left it with a good dose of penetrating oil.

Hi at the moment its the drive shaft that will not move, looking at the book it should just fall out. can not see any thing obstructing it.(wheel hub just holding on to the suspension strut) Ive just replaced the bushes on the rear suspension due to MOT failure and every bolt had to be drilled...

Can any one help with advice with removing the wheel hub so I can replace a wheel bearing on my Freelander, as today my 3 lever gear puller snaped when under load on the hub everything is just so frozen tight. Im I using the correct though now broken tool or am I missing a trick or something...

Any one know how to get the driveshafts out of the freelander differential?

Thanks all for ideas but the garage put 'K' seal in the system and ran the engine for many hours. He said that it was most likely that the seal had gone on the piston liner. It has now worked for nearly 2 weeks and done over 400 miles including towing and is running well. Great ideas from you...

Yep I have learnt the hard way! I rember that the 4th liner was just above the others when I took the head off. So it has now gone to a garage as a Landrover Mechanic that I have come across said that it will be no problem to fix. Will see what he finds.

Thanks for your suggestion but it turned out to be a piston liner so the seal must have deteriorated.

Hi Can anyone tell me why! I have changed a cylinder head gasket on a petrol K series engine and two days later there is water in the oil again. I fitted the new type of gasket which needs a shim that was supplied with the kit. Is this just bad luck or am I missing something?:doh:
