Found the following which might be of interest

The hose from the filler cap to the air box has been disconnected for years on mine, but I put the hose in a small oil catchment container just incase any oil starts going on the drive.

Take my advice go with Singapore airlines they do a nice quick trip to Oz.
Landys are not bullet stoppers.

A small weld on the rear and a long waited couple of gallons of wax oil on and in the chassis.

I had the same issue but without the fuel spilling out, the tank banged with air being drawn out then so much pressure built up air forced itself back in the tank, in the short term I drilled a small air hole in the filler cap washer and the banging stopped.

Sounds like a faulty Diaphragm in the injector pump
