Hi I have the 4.0 thor engine with erratic oil light. Have changed the pressure switch ok for 1 day the came back on again. Now had pressure test at 1.7 bar.
Is it possible to change the relief valve and if so can it be done easily?
Is oil pump easy - ish to change & are they silly money...

Mine is the same - run a head gasket test - all fine. My nephew is a vw tech and says its fine and for me to stop worrying. Easier said than done when my classic went that way;) Do you take it on long runs or just round town?

Ok, today we have a fully working rangie. I'm very happy today!:D! - Oh the oil light came back on but only flickering?!?:confused:

Hi, I have a 2000 4.0 hse. recently the little book came on every now and again on the heater. then the temp gauge on the dash stopped working or became inconsistant. Then the oil light came on!!!
The oil is fine and seem to pump ok. have replaced the oil pressure sensor as well as the coolant...

Thanks, Yeah I've checked out for leaks - My nephew (pet mechanic) seems to think its fine - but I've had rangie head problems before. Do some just use some water?

Had my 4.0 since Oct. runs on Lpg so it doesn't kick me in the head and run off with my wallet. Only little faults so far. So I'll keep praying.
Had a classic 3.9 so I always keep my weekends free to keep which ever rangie I currently love, in working order.
