Disco LSE (LWB Disco) does such a thing exist?

Yup, they did some ambulances on the 110 wheelbase I believe. Like this in fact. Hi, L/rover Disco Ambulance In Devon - New to the SBMCC? - SBMCC

    E pillar..... replacement

It is spot welded to the side panel (or is on the D1 at any rate). Mine is battered in the same place (Disco 1 3-door) but I think I'm going to try and get it beaten out rather than replace it.

    Lack of power when towing

Has it had a fuel filter recently? A clogged one can really knock out your foot-to-the-floor pulling power. 11bhp IIRC pulling a lot more weight than a Mondeo even before you hitch anything up. Some of the hills where I live in Wales, my Disco is flat-out at 40mph not towing anything at all.

To carpet, or not to carpet

I also binned the sound deadening. I removed it in early June and use it in my garage as a big kneeling pad. It's still holding moisture even now. Plain carpet in the back now. No noticeable difference to noise levels.

Discovery 1 - will take up drive but won't move?

Exactly like my Disco was when I bought it. Asked a garage to crack the nuts for me, but they only seemed to do the front. I have an electric impact gun but it only just shifted the rears. I thought one was going to refuse even that treatment.

    Pre-facelift recovery point options

The problem is what to attach them to. I did get a pair of Jate rings, but they're no good without cutting the bumper. Using the factory tie-down is like recovery with added Russian Roulette.

    Pre-facelift recovery point options

I know there are almost as many threads relating to recovery points as there are different options to buy, but bear with me. My 200Tdi is absolutely bog standard. That's how I like it - I've even put it back on 205 section tyres rather than the 235s it was on when I got it. However, I also...

    B&B near strata florida?

The Hafod Hotel | Devil's Bridge, Aberystwyth, SY23 3JL Tel: 01970890232 is another, in Devil's Bridge. I know that Dutch 4x4 folk tend to stop with them from time to time.

Defender 90, 110 & Pinzgauer on Strata Florida on a hot day

My standard Disco 200Tdi and Range Rover both clouted the tow bar going down the bombhole but picked up no other damage. As Fez says, the legal route is through it, but the council ROW team are happy for people to be signposted around it. As has also been said, a mild deviation like that isn't...

    Strata Florida

Funnily enough, I was about to post this pic somewhere from the weekend. Strata's bombhole. I live locally so may be able to meet up. I know some good lanes that aren't Strata too.

    A delayed newbie

Thanks folks. Not sure the best place to put wittering about this Disco. I did start a thread in the Disco section, but it rapidly got buried under tech stuff. Off for a trek along Strata Florida today. Should be fun! My Disco has a different fairly worn tyre on each corner, so I'll see how it...

    UK based road trips

Wales. Any of it that isn't a city is quite nice. Scotland definitely has its plus points too.

    A delayed newbie

Moar pics. As I got it. This week. Repainted bumper, cleaned plastics and the side steps are gone. Wheels need a refurb next. Mechanically, it's had a timing belt, water pump and radiator plus a service. Changed the gearbox oil this week, which has improved the 2nd gear synchro issue quite...

    Brake Callipers

This. If it pulls to one side afterwards, then you've still got a duff one. I wouldn't replace a thought-to-be-working caliper just because the other side was duff. Most common for the nearside to play up first as that gets more muck thrown at it.

    A delayed newbie

I have a nice high-lift trolley jack, but it's a bloody big and heavy thing - not something I want to carry about with me really. It is wheel changing that I had in mind. All well and good carrying a spare, but not much use if you haven't got a jack.
