    It was a while ago now so i cant remember the wiring of the old one. I think it did. Yes the speedo does work. And thats a big job following the wire.

    Does anyone know where the tacho gauge is fed from on a 300tdi?? Is it the alternator. Tacho stopped working after i had a new one fitted and 2 months ago.

    Guys and Girls, Problem Fixed...... It was the earth coming off the battery and onto the body, the earth on the chassis was fine. Because of the lift kit it was trying to earth through the springs and causing my problem. Thanks to all that helped with it. If anyone else has this problem feel...

    Pulled out the dash and found one of the earth wires to have positive volts in it. But it hasnt fixed the problem.

    Brand New alternator fitted. Speedo is electronic. We think its going to be a bad earth, but we dont know where to start. Any Ideas where to start looking?

    Thanks for that Idea, took it to an Auto Electrician, tested fine, 14.4 volts is the highest they could get out of it. Any Other Ideas?
