    Not at that price pal!

Well, I went and did it!

If you're driving at high speeds on long journeys then changing the oil is particularly important as it will degrade quicker under those conditions. In that case, definitely 6000 mile changes. I wouldn't bother finding a garage just to do frequent oil changes, as it will still be relatively...

Well, I went and did it!

Dont know how often you are supposed to change the oil, but 6000 is probably a very good idea and will help keep the engine in tip top condition. After all, it's quick, easy and pretty cheap too. How ever often you decide to do it, never change the oil without changing the filter as dirty oil...

    Discovery 3 DVD...

Can't they play eye spy and batter eachother like kids used to? Endless hours of tv will take away their imaginations and turn them into morons.

    Rear window seal replacement

Yeah, fairly simple job really as clutchdust says. Use a little bit of brake pipe to run the string through as you put it into the window seal (just drag the brake pipe around the seal with the string flowing through it and it will leave it in the place you want) if you see what I mean. I...

    Diesel Injection pump failed..£2k quoted!!

I agree with slob. Either the engine turns over properly on the starter or it doesn't. If it does turn over ok, then either it starts or it doesn't. Can't you be a bit more clear?

Ouch! £600 for new injector + Labour!!!

Bloody hell! They're trying to pull yer pants down there mate. Was the cost of vaseline on top of that or do you have to bring your own?

There's nothing wrong with the smooth stuff. That's my point!

    painting your rear etc..

There's nothing wrong with the smooth Hammerite - it is superb stuff. BUT, you must apply it according to the instructions on the tin. Can't remember the details - you'll have to check, but it's something like you must put the coats on as quick as possible as soon as they are dry enough rather...

    air suspension problem

Come back old coil spring, all is forgiven... The underside of a Disco is no place for this sort of namby pamby technology; better left for the w*nkers in the X5s etc. This is why I fear that the D3 may be knackered from the start. Computers, wires and gadgetry do not mix well with water...

    wheel spacers

I'm with Ormus on this. Bad idea to load up the stresses with wheel spacers. I once saw an MG Midget with a broken stub axle that appeared to be down to the additional stress caused by spacers. Have also seen minis with premature bearing problems. I would definitely avoid doing it if it was...
