Thank you all for your help! Turns out the engine is a 17H..........

Very odd there appears to be no sign of any numbers on that specific piece of casting...... I have attached a picture of the engine.

Sorry for a slow response, have cleaned that casting up and no sign of any number...... any other advice on where to look? It is believed that the block came out of a S1 as a reckon/ replacement engine but can't imagine this should make any difference?
Cheers

Having changed the engine for a 2.25 Petrol engine I am struggling to find the engine number. The position at which I believe it should appear shows no trace of a number. Just wondering if anyone could advice where else to look.
Many thanks

Perfect thank you for your help! I will endeavour to modify that sender unit plate to accommodate the return.
Many thanks.

Ok perfect thank you. If the tank in the vehicle is a petrol (engine changed) where should the return line go into the tank?
many thanks

Wondering if anyone could help! Struggling to remember where the leak off rail returns too? Does it return somewhere on the fuel filter housing or back to the tank?
If it does return back to the tank where abouts does it go?
Cheers

I believe that on the D3 it was there in the chassis however on the late D3 and D4 it is not present. Happy to be corrected on that. Cheers

I have recently removed a fixed plate towbar from a 54 plate D3 hoping it would fit straight onto a new D4 however I am struggling to get hold of the bolts which hold the stay bars onto the chassis. I have attached a photo (isn't mine) which show the bolts required however I cannot find these...
