having done a fair few miles in a d90 tdci, id say that going over 82mph is not advised or pleasurable, and ive found acceleration through the gears good (6 def helps) as long as your willing to push the revs towards 3k... 2.5k sounds a lot, better waxoyling it and having a holiday somewhere...
