Thanks timc1967. If the unit does have an internal fault is it better to just buy a different audio system? Are the standard Rover audio system considered good (understand that they are OEM)? Anyone have a recommendation of an alternative audio system if it comes to that? Thanks :)

The one problem prior to it the radio coming on with the ignition off, was the week prior had a problem getting a CD to eject... the CD worked 2 days later.

Had Defender since new... love it, but seems like the newer Rovers still have some of the electrical problems on my '91 Range Rover.
