I could have used the ponies ! I joined the AA they were great and took me to the garage and then the station. I’m a sports car fan ( 13 Lotus’s or Loti amongst others) but I’m very fond of this Freelander in spite of the girlfriend calling it my Van. Cheers

Thanks Arctic 2, the video has solved it, it shows my cap with the protruding wires and on my car the plug is totally obscured by a massive neoprene type hose which will have to come off before I can access the plug. So grateful. Broke the crankshaft too much right clog I think is the phrase. I...

Thanks Arctic but it’s an auto which is why I can’t understand why there isn’t the usual TD4 auto g/box plug there. I broke the crankshaft in 2018 and had a newer engine fitted but I can’t think that anything would have changed there. Has run well ever since , just getting a bit noisy when hot...

Anybody help please. Instead of a plug on top of the gearbox as per numerous online photos of the process of refilling the box I have what appears to be a metal cap with wire protruding from it, maybe the cap lifts up but it would seem I have to move a soloing hose to access it . Anyone know...
