    The best purging procedure?

Could be the little valve in the fuel filter housing

Do you keep a fire extinguisher in your Defender?

I wouldn't use a powder or foam extinguisher unless was in big trouble. I have a couple of firesticks that work very well and also don't take up much space so they're easy to put somewhere that's easy to reach from the drivers seat. https://firesafetystick.com/ Yup, works in a TD5 D2 too...

    36mpg!

My old 110 that had 33s and a D2 box used do 35mpg easily enough on a run once wasn't all 70-80mph motorway speeds. Even towing my driftcar to the track, it used manage 25-27mpg on the trip. The taller transfer box ratio makes a massive difference!

    ECU fault

Just to to tie this one up :) Changed the loom for another one. Plugged it in and started up straight away with crank speed on the live data straight away

    ECU fault

Checked it earlier and yup! Reading 0rpm on the live data so obviously crank sensor or the loom going to it is in trouble :)

    ECU fault

Yep. Code earned and ecu status as not immobilized

    ECU fault

Finally got round to getting at this. My dad isn't able to drive for a few weeks due to an operation so wasn't a major panic. However, got a loom for it and stuck it in and another ECU but it refuses to start. just cranks over. Brand new battery, no faults coming up and can activate all the...

    ECU fault

Yup, realised after I was getting mixed up which section the injector loom was on. Will swap the section and see and hopefully it sorts it. Annoying that is killed two ECUs of course!

    ECU fault

Thanks! Yea, it definitely seems like a loom issue although would have thought the issue would be in the part with the black ecu plug and plug to the injectors. Being a Discovery of course, swapping the section of the loom that has the black plug on it is abit of a pita as it goes in behind the...

    ECU fault

been trying to get my dad's D2 running the last while and having some issues! Fitted a new clutch and then when doing a few other bits I noticed the intake housing of the turbotechnics VNT I had on it was cracking. Ordered a new CR turbos VNT so was waiting a few weeks for that. When fitted...

    Transfer box ratios

I've had 1.2s with 33x12.5s on one of my 110s and it was perfect and that was with alot of towing too. Fact it was a 200bhp/450Nm TD5 helped however :D

Disco 2 Spigot bearing change - possible to do on a drive?

If doing a clutch on a driveway or without a lift, it's much easier to just pull the engine out unless you need to take the gearbox or transfer box out for another reason too. I've made up a little bracket for my gearbox jack that bolts to the underside of the R380 where the three threaded...

Disco 2 Thick white smoke and loss of oil

If lots of white smoke combined with lost of power, I'd be putting my bets on turbo after throwing it's toys out of the pram anyway
