W reg, 2.0 DI Just stopped and now wont start

Here's yer clue. That white smoke is unburnt dozzel. Therefore, the fuel injects running, therefore the ECU is alive. Yer timings slipped. Get the cover off the fuel pump drive belt and have a look to see if the tensioners let go. It "could" be the primary timing belt so if you find...

    Freelander Van useless in snow

As has been said. Its down to tyres. If you have no grip you go nowhere. The Freelander is very capable in the snow but you must have the right tryes. Even the mighty Discover doesn't fare well on duff rubber.

50 quids worth of fuel in a td4????

I get about 35MPG out of me L series. One of my Lattitudes had a puncture and has gone in for repair. As I didn't want three nearly new Lattitudes and one nearly worn out Synchrone on the car for a week, I've fitted my Goodyear MT off road tyres. Its not doing so good on fuel now, wonder...

    Ran out of fuel

I think that generally the car would judder as the fuel pressure fluctuates. With the TD4 the rear pump would have been the first to suffer, causing the fuel low pressure sensor to alarm to the ECU, hence you EM light. I then suspect the ECU would kill the engine to stop the high pressure pump...

    Its that time again!!

Ere, one bit of good news is I got a new wheel cover for nothing. Lost me last one somewhere, one day it was there, the next it weren't. Now Joyces gave me a nice shiny new one. Got their name all over it but I don't mind that. At least it keeps the light of me rubber. :D:D:D

Ah,well, I haven't actually seen the bill yet!! :o Shouldn't be as bad as last year. MOT, rear diff mount changed and a track rod end. Parts and labour, I'm thinking £200?? Whats the guesses then? :D

    Its that time again!!

Well, Good news, a PASS. But it needed a new trackrod end. Annoying thing is this is the second time I've replaced a part with a cheaper alternative and its failed on me. Lesson to learn there I think. Bad news. They lent me a Disco 2 TD5 to play with. Mmmmmmm, not bad...

    Its that time again!!

Well, its that time yet again. Hippo goes into Joyces tomorrow for its MOT. Slight job to do is to replace the rear diff's front mount which is totally shot. I could have done it meself I spose but Joyce's have done me a favour recently so I feel a little obliged, especially as he spotted the...
