Some advice please...
Trying to remove stereo. Insert the 2 "keys" but when I pull, the keys just come out leaving the stereo in place.

Yes but if someone had said they would get the bolt out for a fiver I'd gladly have paid it so money well spent.
It was me m'lud I am guilty as charged. Top one came out without a fight, the bottom one nearly stayed there.

As a postscript to this...
Today I received my £5 10mm socket in the post and with a bit of a struggle I finally got the bolt out (I moved the aircon compressor out the way to gain a bit more room).
I've replaced the bolts with standard m8 x 25 flange head bolts (as opposed to the LR items) as...

Thanks. I saw that sizing in my parts book so ordered some m8 x 25 flange bolts as a precaution but the heads on them are 13mm and the existing are more likely 10mm (which I now see a couple of others have confirmed ).

Hello
Hope you're all keeping safe.
Can someone please advise what size socket I need in order to remove the two bolts holding the thermostat housing in place?

Does anyone...

To conclude this thread it transpired I had bought a dodgy tank of fuel at myour local supermarket filling station. Drained and refilled with 90 litres of ESSO Premium and within 10 miles all symptoms had disappeared!
Thanks for all your suggestions...every little helps........☺

Really useful step by step guide to diagnosing where the problem might lie. As an addendum to the instructions I can tell you that all tests performed fine on my 1997 300tdi auto with the exception of the secondary voltage test. Working backwards from the connector the live feed should come...

Thought I'd give an update on this as my experience may help others.
After having the injectors and pump checked out (tested ok) and worrying it could be ECU related or all sorts of other things (I always think the worst when there's an issue with the Disco!) it turns out I had got hold of a...

Anyone tell me what this label under the bonnet of my Disco 1 is for please? Just curious.
