Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I've got a spare key so removal of the offending part is all that is required. I'll give it a bash and let you know the outcome. Thanks again. Dan

The key snapped as I removed it from the ignition. The begining half of the key stayed put. Leaving me with the fob and half a key in my hand.
