dag019 replied to the thread Tow bar on an older 110.
Definitly need more information regarding what tyres for a towbar height and what trailer you are trying to tow that needs such a low hitch. And maybe a picture of your current setup. After that will be better placed to give advice. My towbar is...

In poor condition, Defender seats are rubbish. The foam falls to bits over the decades, making them lumpy and uncomfortable. The solution is to simply refurbish them, rather than mess around trying to fit other seats in there. New internal foams...

Why? What is wrong with the standard seats.... I'm yet to see an improvement over a standard style seat.

Think man! Without one how else do you run all the cables up to the roof lights you don’t need! I got my original mushroom top one galvanised and am planning on doing the same with the one for the station wagon. I just need a new tube as the one...

dag019 replied to the thread 19J starter solenoid.
The flying lead off the back is the positive, and would have been connected to the solenoid which is essentially a giant switch between that cable and the cable to the battery. The motor earths through the casing onto the block. You could put an...

The top bottom bracket can be fitted using the existing mounts. It is only the reel Itself that you need to find a way of mounting. On my hardtop I mounted this to some 10mm angle iron that was bolted to the original position on the rear bulkhead...

That one. The ring terminal going into the starter itself will spin the engine over if you put a jump Lead onto from the battery. I would favour bump starting if it was not a 19j. My 200tdi takes so little to start that I can get it loving...

Storage at all is not cheap. that is how I have justified leasing the field I now have, the cost to store the two things in it elsewhere means that after three months the field has paid for itself and the other 9 months I have a free storage and...

@Hicap phill will probably be able to help. However bear in mind that any hicap that has has been used is likely to have a fairly battered rear tub (no judgment of @HiCapphills land rover intended!)

dag019 replied to the thread Dodgy New Brake Calipers ..
I agree with the above and to be honest even if you buy a new one rather than rebuilding your current ones (which I am currently doing) I would still fit stainless piston before fitting. If they are new you dont need to do anything else just...

Or you will find out what it is worth and not sell it. I like watching the vehicles trying to be sold that get put up as a classified a couple of times and dont sell, then an auction that doesn't sell and reaches half the classified price a...

yep, that is the same with the major, original book spec is S.A.E. 30 H.D in engine, gearbox, and rear end (also the hydraulics on a major). Although there is a school of thought to use modern multi grade oils as you can still get HD30 I run that.

I don’t like keeping count. It makes keeping the vehicle even less justifiable than it already is! I have all the paperwork and could add incoming wanted to. But I feel the actual Figure would make me sick!

Cannot agree more with the above! I bought the boomslang kit and was very unimpressed. I then Set about modifying it to run direct from the battery and for the relays to be in a sensible position and then gave up and stripped it for parts. With...

Fairly sure the 1600 in the mga takes 20/50 as well. Interestingly the tractor which should fit that description is straight 30wt.

That was my first through as well. If that is the case you can build up the switch contacts with solder so they make contact again as a temporary fix while you wait for the new part to arrive.

These are the diagrams I have in my parts manual. I would assume a 200tdi is the same as the 2.5. As most changes came in with the 300tdi.
