A td5 and a puma are two different things and it cannot be both. At 2014 it will be the puma.
I am not as familiar with the prices of new ones as I am with the older ones. But my gut reaction would be no you won’t get the money back. Most people...
You seem very keen on the LOF kit almost as if you have made up your mind already.
The TRW kit is the one you need, it was designed far and works well with the car.
It will also likely be better quality than the LOF
I know not what you are looking for but you can get very good results with a gloss roller and some coach enamel unless you have a fussy metallic paintjob. and the whole job would cost you about £30!
Are you sure? I have done other panels with YRM replacements where you drill out the spotwelds with a 5mm bit, and then split the panel with a sharp chisel (I use an old wood chisel as thinner and sharper than a metal working chisel and ali is...
It has long been my opinion that if you are not willing to do the work yourself you shouldn't really own a defender. You would need such deep pockets to keep one on the road if you paid a garage for every little job and niggle that you would...
Personally speaking I’d have a 300tdi 90 on a 95 plate which my son purchased in 2018 he bought it only really knowing it had a rc galvanised chassis replaced in 2014 , not long after purchasing we realised both front brakes were seized which we...
lt's easy to improve one to make it better as a car, if that's what you want to use it for.
First try to get one with aircon.
Adjustable dampers set to soft, give a better ride on the road
RTC steering damper makes the steering more suitable...
I did find it terrible before I actually had a look at anything. I then found I had no thermostat fitted, replaced with a 78 degree one. I then found all the foam seals in the heater box had disintegrated, same with the dash air box, after...
^^ I think the above is the case form everything you have described here. I have a 2.25 5mb diesel in my series 3 fitted with 7.50 tyres and an overdrive. It is slow compared to modern traffic but it is usable. It has similar acceleration and...
If you have done as much adjusting as you can at the hinges then you do need to space the bulkhead forward, contrary to my previous post this is done by removing washers rather than adding! Ignore the rust it is a pic from google, but if you have...
With that sort of budget and with the desire to learn how to maintain it you could get a 300tdi that has been rebuilt by one of the reputable companies with galv chassis, galv bullhead etc. This will give you a reliable starting point but still...
My first trough on that is that the bulkhead needs moving forward by adding a couple of washers between it and the chassis on that side. You can do that without actually stripping everything down just loosen all the bulkhead mounting bolts and...
The doors didn't line up particularly well when they left the factory, ad years of wear and tears to things and it is fairly common. what is your frame of reference for how you think they "should" line up? is it other defenders or is it more...
A quick internet search will give you plenty of choices, some companies may be near to you, only you know that as you haven't said where you are.
There are a lot of peripheral bits that attach a ladder chassis to the body and a lot of parts that...
Should have said as well the little hole to the right of the bolt had a self tapper through it with the earths on the loom attached. I know when I rebuilt my rear door I replaced this with a Small bolt.
Apologies for the delay. Grommet hole is for the wiper spindle. The bolt is the rivnut to prevent the motor turning.
If you require any more or specific measurements let me know as I have the blank door atm.
Cut out and keep the piece of chassis with the original chassis number on it, with the receipt for the new chassis, and then there should be no recourse or challenge.
it is long but achievable. I only had two weeks to explore so wanted as much time in Morocco as possible it took us 36 hours from leaving the midlands to getting on the ferry in Algeciras. (we did dover calas crossing)
If you are interested an PM me your email address I can share with you the trip write up I did with the interesting offroad routes logged on Wikiloc, with camps, lat/long etc. and somewhere I probably still have the packing list for what I took...
You rang...
The hammocks we used had a built-in mosquito all in one with the hammock (similar to this first hit on ebay: LINK), rollmat in the base (it gets cold), sleeping bag on top and you are all set for a cosy nights sleep. have done...
I'm going to suggest a high resistance earth causing the issue, (its always the earths with a land rover  ) enough of a circuit to register on the meter but not enough to actually power anything. Try a good either direct to something...
It will most likely be the regulator that has failed preventing the alternator from charging the battery, these are usually replicable if you can find the correct one for your alternator. I have just had my alternator fail and replaced it get the...
Where are you? I agree with the above regards to value but if you are intent on giving it away I would take it off your hands if it just needs removing! How quickly do you need it out?
What year is the vehicle, is it definitely an LT77, as that...
I am not familiar with the britpart on specifically but is there not a strengthening plate that fits on the inside of the door? It should go in the square below the wiper motor. This then give you where to drill the holes through the frame. If...
On a Land Rover the age of yours I am not sure I agree with that. There should be nothing you cannot do yourself. On my above example I borrowed an engine crane and did the clutch myself when they said they wouldn’t do it. First time I did the...
That may be true. But plenty of places don’t want to work on them because they are heavy and dirty, when I first got mine my long trusted family garage said they wouldn’t swap the clutch on it because it was too heavy a job. Also at that age you...
