You can set up a free account with something like Free Image and Video Hosting - Photo Image Hosting Site : Photobucket.com, and use any size pic you like. Then post the links to the pics instead.

    rear seatbelts

As already stated, it pretty much depends on the nature of the collision, but as a rule belted is better by a definite majority. If the car comes to a very sudden stop you will be thrown around until something stops you, if not the belt then something else. Front seat backrests won't hold up...

    Engine oil additives

I wouldn't put too much stock in that statement, even if I knew it was absolutely true. Heck, at the end of the day even a NASA-approved paperclip is still only a paperclip. Also, I have a piece of kit by the name "class 5" that was sold under the slogan of "using the same standard of quality...

    fitted big intercooler

Can't answer for what people have done, but you don't have to do anything, the engine will run just fine as it is. However, if you want more power from the engine you'll have to tweak the pump as well, and there should be several internet sites telling you what to do. About the only...

    Compare 90 to 110

Well, me and my driving has been called a lot of things over the years, but "aggressive" isn't on the list. But maybe doing 70 in a Defender would qualify? And what would that be then? If I'd known that it was there when I made the reservation I'd have asked the rental agency to remove it. But...

    "Fake" Snorkel?

It pretty much depends on what revs you are running. You are adding a significant length of plumbing, with a couple of short radius turns that your intake air has to go through, this WILL affect air flow to some degree. You probably won't notice on low revs when air flow isn't that big anyhow...

    "Fake" Snorkel?

Well, the snorkel isn't fake as such, it's only missing the the unseen bits that actually makes it work. Much like the early/mid-80s craze of sticking scoops on hoods(or should it be bonnets?) without bothering to cut the hole underneath needed for it to actually make any sense. And, of course...

    "Fake" Snorkel?

I spoke to a guy who worked extra on mounting accessories on LRs prior to delivery. He said that it had been quite fashionable to have the snorkel fitted but not connected, that way you could have all the styling value of having the snorkel without the drawback of the extra intake air resistance...

    Compare 90 to 110

Ok, so I found a 110 CSW -06 available as a rental, made a reservation for half a day and went off. Did about 200 miles on mixed roads(no off-road though, the thought of getting stuck somewhere, alone and in a rental was quite discouraging...) Anyhow, despite the fact that my current car has...

    Steel or aluminum?

It's a common problem then?I sure couldn't use that phrase when ordering parts for my current car, cause that description could fit anything behind the steering wheel and back...

    Steel or aluminum?

Hey, even I had read about that one! But I didn't know to connect the two.It really pays off to read the backlog around here! But he said all the recalls I've googled a bit and only found that and something about front left brake hose. I guess one could say"all two recalls", but it...

    Steel or aluminum?

I've been wondering about that one too, thanks. What about the bulkhead?
Hopefully I won't have to. This car had the advantage of being quite nearby, but there's another one three hours drive from here that looks like a better vehicle. I's three years younger, same mileage, Webasto...

And what's that bit called then? Rear panel? Rear corner?

    Steel or aluminum?

Hi guys, I seem to remember having read that Defenders has aluminum bodies, so what is that red stuff on the enclosed pic? Or should that be mostly aluminum bodies? In that case, which parts are steel, and how would you treat something like that? (grind and paint in place, remove to paint...

    Compare 90 to 110

Hi guys, I have next to zero driving experience of reasonably modern Defenders, so I don't really know what to expect from them on the road. I'm actually looking for a 110, but there's a really smarmy dealer nearby who has a 90 available for test drives. If I try that car - how much will it...
