Hi Colin it's a 1971 petrol engine. The 1978 I have too has got two cables going to a switch which is clamped on to the choke cable. The 71 has just one cable which is live dangling in the engine bay. The is also no clamp on switch hence my confusion

Hi again been fixing all the electrics successfully until I found a single live wire which is disconnected from something. I traced the single wire and it leads to the cold start lamp. can anyone help? I have a series 3 military lwt 1971 with lots of play in steering. Will a series 3 109 steering box fit as a replacement as I have it available on my old 109 Cheers
