As far as I know all the tune resistor does is select which fuel map IE CAT or NON CAT, is operational. You can switch fuel maps according to the reistance of the tune resistor fitted. Have a look at this Fuel injection

I am a relative novice and I managed to change the Auto filter on my 89 RRC. I didn,t have to remove the exhaust and used a window sash clamp reversed to ease the chassis rails so crossmember could be wiggled/tilted forward to free sump. I used a 25 torx, are discos different? I was advised...

First remove stepper motor and gently clean with brake cleaner or the like. Next reset AFM to 1.5 Volts. Go to Technical for method. Do check the timing should be about 6 degrees BTDC for petrol. That should settle the tickover on petrol, the next job is to ask someone more skilled than I to...

Just a thought, you said daughter slammed door, so how about loose wire somewhere. Maybe check ignition switch and anything loose at the ECU.

Gents, In need of some help and guidance. Long story but here's the short version. Had Lambdas fitted to aid tuning of LPG and it was discovered that petrol running very lean. Attempted to reset petrol via AFM as per the book, but despite altering the volts up to 3.5V couldn't get much change...

From bitter experience I would suggest that you replace the cap, lead, plugs, and the coil with genuine parts, DO NOT buy cheap pattern parts you will regret it!!!!! Next get hold of a timing light and find a mechanic prepared to teach you how to use it. Nearly all starting probs on RV8 are...

Gents thanks for the comments. I deference to advice from those more experienced and skilled I have set the timing to 12 degrees BTDC rather than 16 degrees. The truck starts and runs very well on petrol and LPG. It is running how I want it and I do heed the advice to stick to genuine parts. In...

Thanks for the advice. Already use Taylor 8mm leads and Flamethower coil. Have heard that the RPi amp is prone to early faliure so haven't fitted one. Cheers Nick

After reading the various tech files that it is possible to advance the ignition far more than the standard 4 degrees BTDC I worked up the courage to have a go myself. I did it by advancing in small stages and driving under load untill it pinked, then I retarded untill the pinking stopped. All...
