Many thanks, lotsa info to get on with there, the engine was idling on the old MAF for all screen shots, odd about the airflow bit, I did wonder but I am not au fait with using engine diagnostics so I wouldn't fully know what I am looking at!

For info, here's my GEMS at idle. No faults stored, and adaptive not cleared for many months.

Thanks Pete, My MAF only has 3 pins, it is a GEMS and not Bosch/Motronic. When I put the new MAF in (either one) I cannot physically drive the car because it won't rev no matter how hard I press the pedal. The readings do change when revving on...

If any one can interpret these, they are readings on the old MAF after clearing the fault and doing an adaptive reset

Thanks Pete, I have done the reset adaptive values with the Nano but both of the new MAFs still overfuel and I cannot get a tickover let alone any revs, as soon as I unplug either of them the engine then goes to idle and runs and revs etc. If I...

There's only one Adaptive Values Reset in Nanocom for either GEMS or Thor. (Can't remember which you have) No option to reset MAF, O2, etc separately because the ECU learns using all of the sensors together. Have you also checked the O2...

Arrgh I thought it was a diesel. Ignore everything that I have said it's an old age thing!!. I know nothing about the petrol I'm pleased to say.

Mines a 4.6 HSE Petrol, where do I check the MAP? When I replaced the MAF 11 years or so ago I just fitted it, plugged it in and all was ok, this time not so. The MAF shows up when doing the fault check so I would assume again that the thing is...

There are no adaptive setting for the MAF on the diesel. all of the above could still be a dodgy connection. Worth checking that the MAP sensor is working.

Hi Keith, I would have thought that if it was the connector or connections that it would make no difference with it plugged or unplugged. If I start the car with either of the new MAFs the thing overfuels and I cannot get it to rev, if I pull the...

There are no adaptive values to reset on the diesel, the MAF is plug n play. It does sound as if you may have a connector problem

Since I put the original MAF in the engine is doing what it is supposed to so I am assuming the other bits are doing what they should, I will run a check though. I would like to put one of the new ones on though because I don't trust the old one...

Right, I have checked the old MAF with the Nanocom and it came up with fault 102 circuit low input. I cleared it and restarted but the fault returned. I have 2 brand new MAFs so I installed the first and tried starting, the thing just threw out...

Outside handle attaches to green clip. Inside handle attaches to the lever circled in blue. Both of them operate the same metal lever, so the problem is likely to be one of these attachment points. About 6:30 into the video below shows the...

A long list of A long list of faults means there is no communication with the diagnostics. You should have a green "Good Idle" button before you read the faults. V4 will not help. Check the OBD connector for corrosion front and back, that is...

In that case check each of the ground points. It any are rusty, then clean them up & re-fix. Can't do any harm whil;e you're saving for the Nanocom !! Many years ago, the one on RH front door pillar was going bad on my green P38. The symptom...

Also check the wires inside the MAF connector. They are rather close to the EAS pipes on GEMS, so could have an intermittent connection.
