all sorted now :) was a small thred of wire linking both poles at the antenna mount end. SWR 1 to 1.5 now :)

all power is direct from the battery (pos and neg)

just moved my CB aerial from a gutter mount to a body mount but cant get the SWR out of the red :( i have good eirth as i can turn the radio on when the aerial is connected but without the negative power connection. i have tried to remove the roof bars to see if this makes a difference but...

i had the same with my TD5, i just cut off what wiring was dead and re wired all working 100% ok now i just spray wd40 or the likes of in it to keep as good as pos but these are prone to go the way you describe. if your loom is to be replaced you will prob find the connection is in the same...
