    Alright, the brake jobs I've done have never involved copper, I realize they don't rust but what about the strength. I cant seam to find premade stainless steel or even steel lines, thats why I'm asking. thanks

    I would like to get a few 4x4er's opinions of whats there favorite; Coil or Leaf (please include why and what type of driving conditions rock crawling, mud, woodland driving, dunes.....etc)and if anyone has used an aftermarket leaf spring on a series3 (replacement or inhancement)!

    the only positive of this is to avoid the headache of the drum brakes....which is due to a lack of being comfortable with the drum system.... But if your gonna take a defender brake system, Then Take The Coil Springs Too! dont replace an old system with a new one and throw away a chance to...

    impressed with the bulkhead repair, I think every weld I've seen on a Land Rover is a plate on top of 2 other plate held together by what looks like bubble gum..... and those white plastic bar/butt connectors, must be a common theme. I found 13 of them in just 2 curcuits.

    Would it make more sense to throw leaf springs out of the picture and weld upper coil spring carriers to the correct spot on the frame? and then having a complete defender-like axle, brake, and suppension. I think it would be just as much work but with out the camber angle problem, right?

    Hi, just an intro...I own a 74' series 3 and am looking for advice on turning it into a true rock crawler!.....advice about leaf springs, tires, 200/300tdi's, and transfer/trasmissions.
