    Buying advice

Well, it's not going to be driven a lot. And a little repairs are no problem. Just no exploding engines, gearboxes falling apart or chassis's in need of welding...

    Buying advice

My faithfull Freelander has got to go unfortunately. Foolish Dutch tax laws made me do it. I already have it's boring replacement, a Corolla. :shame: So, no more LaRo's as a daily car for me. But I can't help myself. I've got to get another. I think it's time to finally do what I've been...

    Coolant problem

The axle or the driveshaft? You can remove the driveshaft. You'll have a FWD freelander, but it's better that the scrapyard. The rear axle isn't bolted to the chassis, I hope. There's usually some kind of suspention between them...

    Rusty bonnet latch

Hi, I recently had problems getting the bonnet to lock. The lock/latch is completely rusted and got stuck in the open position. I managed to get it unstuck using a screwdriver and some WD40. But I'm not very happy about it. So I'd like to replace it before it completely dies. But how...

The dealer can do it. I've asked how much it would cost and the said about 60 euros, including the new fob. Isn't that bad I recon...

    Freelander TD4 2002 Viscous Coupling?

I've just had a very similar problem. It was indeed the rear brakes sticking due to insufficient greasing. A little copper grease will solve your problems... :)

    Freelander RHD to LHD conversion

There is no real difference in RHD and LHD freelanders. The dash is assembled in a different way, but uses the same part. Put steeringwheel where passenger airbag used to be. And rewire... Although I agree this alone isn't worth the hassel... Then you'll need to change wipers, steering...

Like it's jumping out of gear but it's not...

I'm not a big expert, but sounds like either a cracked chassis, or the VCU is giving problems...

    Removing freelander headlight

You'll need to remove the front bumper to access the lower screw. But the indicator uses the same connections you can access from the engine bay without removing the light unit. You can also access the indicator from a little hatch in the front wheel arch.

Vibrating brake pedal after brake pad replacement etc...

Oh, I completely second that! I'm pretty carefull, especially since in Holland we just seem to love trafficjams. I just had a look at the disks. They are quite rusty (but still thick enough though). Probably since the car has been standing for quite a while. I think it might just be that...

Vibrating brake pedal after brake pad replacement etc...

Thx. I'll have a look at the disks. Can't imagine how I'd warped them, but I'm not an expert by far. Does sound very plausible...

How to replace handbrake cable and loss of power.

It'll be hard to explane how to replace a hand brake cable over the internet. Best advice I can give you is to get a Haynes manual. There's a step by step explanation of how to replace them. Including pictures. Very handy! It's not a very hard job to do... Well, if it's using more fuel then...

Can my FL go off road?

Well, it's still all wheel drive. So light off roading should be doable. Think grassy fields, light sand trails, that sort of stuff. Stay clear of big pools of mud, bumpy rocks and those things. But you'll be able to cross a meadow or two...

Vibrating brake pedal after brake pad replacement etc...

Now, after finding the rear brakes stuck due to lack of cleaning and greasing I've done some work on it: Replaced final brake lines Replaced cylinders Replaced brake pads I've greased everything with copper grease and put it back together. Made sure there wasn't any air in the system and...
