I was told that the location of the sender unit is a dirt trap and boy isn't it just. The pipes coming out of it have corroded but I havent removed it yet to have a good look. The theory is that if the pipe corrodes it let air to be sucked in. Does this make sense?

Thanks for that, I'll see what else is suggested the start in order of least expense first! Someone told me they had a similar problem and it was the sender unit on the tank.

Oh **** ! I have renewed airfilter and fuel filter. Havent checked the waste gate - how do I di that? Got my fingers crossed it aint terminal :confused:

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I could find an answer. When I accelerate in my 300 tdi automatic the revs get to about 3000 rpm then the engine stutters - eventaully it will pick up again and the revs will go higher. This usually happens in 3rd gear accelerating to go up into 4th...

Last I heard it was open. I gave someone directions just two weeks ago but I dont know how they got on. Have seen photos on the web taken last week ( I think!)
