On another rote, both the auxiliary gauges aren't working. I fitted a new voltage stabiliser to no success. Reckon a dud stabiliser or both senders are gone? (or anything else?!)

Thanks Phil - I ended up just going down with a mix of M bolts and yes an M4 works albeit loosely!

Did you by any chance work out what size screw it was?

Hi all, trying to work out compression ratio on my 1972 Series 3. Clearly has the raised level but can't tell whether there is an 8 stamped in (see arrows), or its just rusted that way?! Welcome any thoughts. TIA

Hi all, Recently bought a series 3 1972 petrol and noticed this rather annoying rattle (see attached url below). Comes on at higher revs whilst in neutral, but is more prominent when in gear (and then is across the rev range). Any ideas what may be causing it? Thanks
