Wow thank you. That’s really interesting reading and is going to keep me busy tomorrow. As I said we bought a new battery, now from some comments in here I’m not sure it was the best one but...it’s bought and fitted now. The alternator tests definitely do tomorrow. Thanks so much.

I’ll do it again today to give you accurate figures but in answer to your question no. I can’t find the electrical tests page. I searched for ages but only found the information already given about voltage at test and when everything on.

Thanks, we already took it to one and they cannot work it out. Sadly in rural France the garages here just don’t understand this car. We have a great garage who will fit parts for us but we have to provide the parts and tell them what’s wrong! I’ll try again with another garage but don’t hold...

Ah ok. Thank you. It’s good we now have a steady reading on the volt reader....but so annoying it’s still powerless. So far this thread has fixed the fuse and lights out issue and taught us how to replace console lights so it’s been a great learning curve. Just wish we could solve this power...

Ok so an update for you kind people. We examined the battery closely and three of the fluid containers (electrolytes?) were empty, two were bone dry. We purchased a new battery, a 12v same as before (best we could find which had reverse polarity and available immediately due to our dry battery...

That sounds expensive :-) Is there a process to finding out which is the issue? Maybe borrow battery and drive it on that? Or a test or something? Any ideas gratefully received. Thankyou

Hey Datatek. Hi. Ok this is a weird one. At standstill without switching on it’s 12.7v however after turning on all lights and engine and reviving to 2000 it became erratic.... most of the time around 14 v but for a second or two 2 or 3 volts ....then around 14...then down to 2 0r 3 the...

Ok so we got into the fuse box, we found a wire hanging by the smallest thread, which was hanging from the relay 2, we fixed it. The trip out caused no faults however it stalled once out of about ten stops and starts.! So....:not sure yet if we have solved the problem and are back to the...

Yeahhhhhhh.....just discovered we can’t do anything as alarm goes off constantly. Can’t get the battery out as terminals welded rod however they do lift off easily! The battery is running at 12v so no problem with the actual battery. Getting really stuck...
