Thank you for your replays I have tried to attach photos the otter switch I thought was the temp sender has that green and black wire on it and when I take it off the gauge does go down to zero so I am stumped because I can not find the temp sender there is a bolt where it screws in on my other...

My gauge is not working until I earth the single spade connect on top of the tank I found this out with my test lamp to see if there was power there as I did that the gauge went up. My question should it be earthed originally? And can I earth it permanent ? Christian
