Speedo not working, where to look

Yes, mine's a 3.9 and Automatic. After the connector by the bulkhead, do the wires go to an ECU? Where? The speed sensor appears to be doing something, whether it's doing it right or being turned in the first place is another matter.

Speedo not working, where to look

Found that, it was obvious! Where do the wires go after that? They go into the car on the passenger side (it's LHD remember) and then seem to disappear into the centre of the dashboard. They must go via an ECU before the get to the speedo itself, surely? Where? I thought the ECU was under the seat.

Great, I'll pop to the mechanics and look tomorrow.

Both green and yellow wires go to the connector there? Is it just a connector with 2 wires, just so I know what to look for? Thanks.

Someone must know the wire's next port of call en route to the speedo?

Speedo not working, where to look

Hello, My speedo stopped working the other day. It was erratic for a week or so and now rarely budges (occasionally it will move a couple of mm for a second). It's the electronic type and the car is a 1990 model and LHD middle eastern spec. The car is now with my competent but non LR...

RR Classic, orange exclamation mark warning.

It's still fine....fine ever since. Few weeks ago a cable broke, from the loom (I assume) to the fuel pump. The car cut out a few times and eventually wouldn't start at all. That rather significant failure didn't put the light on! I love roaring aroung in the old RR here in high altitude...

Fixed it! Something silly in the end. When it got a few degrees warmer I opened the bonnet and notice that the HT lead from the coil was hanging next to the distributor cap! I'd changed this recently and it was loose. Too loose! The reason the car kept running is because the spark was arcing...

Ah yes, I remember seeing lots of gubbins there when I installed the elec/leather seats earlier this year. Thanks, I'm going to try that after breakfast.

Ok, I'll see about doing that today. What's a MAF? If it runs any richer the fuel comsumption will be measured in gallons per mile! This'll sound dumb, but to save me googling....where is my ecu? I've never had any problems that have necesitated finding it.

    3.5 v8 downpipes

I see. Well if someone comes along that knows for sure, it may be an interesting way for me to save a fortune and I therefore may be interested in those downpipes/cats.

What else is involved if I wanted to change a non cat Range Rover Classic (3.9 EFI) to one with cats?! I have one that was sold new in Oman and it had no cats from new....which means EUR1100 road tax pa here in Germany!

Sorry, posted this in the 'Common faults and Questions' first, and I think it may be better off in here. I've searched and can find no reference to an orange exclamation mark warning light on a Range Raver Classic....but I have one! I'm in East Germany and it's -10 during the day. I started...

    RR Classic, orange exclamation mark.

I've searched and can find no reference to an orange exclamation mark warning light on a Range Raver Classic....but I have one! I'm in East Germany and it's -10 during the day. I started the car (a 1990 3.9 V8 Auto) and let it run for 5-10 mins to get it warmed up. I then engaged reverse...
