PS - don't forget to deburr the plumbing pipe or you'll rip your hands up.

Brilliant thread, really helpful. Hopefully this will be helpful too: After several hours trying to get the slave pushrod clip connected (and failing) I got a six inch length of 15mm plumbing pipe which fits nicely over the pushrod with a tight elastic band to make the pipe grip the pushrod and...

I had mine MOT'd via AJD a couple of weeks ago and mentioned the penny trick to them - they said they'd never heard of it and it could make the fan belt slide off over time. Anyway, we found that one of belt tensioners was stuck and once that had been replaced it fixed the squealing but then my...

In case it helps anyone, even at the risk of opening up an old thread, my clunking turned out to be mangled yokes on my rear prop. Replaced the prop and clunking has all but gone - now just need to replace my heavy left foot with one that can control a clutch properly...

Yes please, that would be excellent.
Also very interested in how your alternative brackets work out. I've just bought three diamond stitched leather front row seats from Sams Trim and was going to replace the three middle row seats with the standard black vinyl 'squares' so I could still fold...

Just been quoted happy by Flux - 12 seat 1997 CSW with loads of bolt on goodies (no engine performance mods though). The really good part for me is that I can make more (non-performance) mods and don't have to advise them each time I change anything. Looks like I'll be fitting that machine gun...

Great thread. I've got exactly the same problem but after ruling out UJs I put it down to "user error" and my sh1t clutch control as I don't get the clonk it if I'm really gentle with the gear change (which is boring and almost impossible).
What are your engine mounts like?
I'm going to...

Aha, I was being thrown by what I have on the driver side at the rear which is just item number 2 from the below.

Did you fix this or has it gone onto the fix list?
If you aren't losing power it may be crap in your exhaust cat if it's old and starting to break down, and/or you may have something leaking into it.

Temporarily fixed my single wiper conversion with some duct tape inside the wiper arm recess where it fits onto the spindle adaptor. Gave the feeble splines some more grip and will work until I fix it properly, after I've fixed everything else properly. Might get you through the winter...

This is as good a photo as I could find if anyone's interested, courtesy of autotrader (apologies if this is anyone's on here!)
Facing it from the back it looks like it goes in order:
x member
exhaust
flap bracket
reams of mud and cow crap
strut
rear wheel
-
I can see how they'd they bolt onto the x-member on the 90, but not on me barge-like 110?
-
That's an interesting thought; what did you make them out of, half tractor tyres?

New bar is the way to go.
If anyone can send me a picture of theirs and where it is I'd be very grateful, I can't believe that I can't find any on the whole Googleverse.
Thanks in advance

Good point. Could also be a kick in the danglies if it gets caught on the rear wheel, rips off and takes the strut with it. And then bends the rear wing in.
