    LR/RR Hybrid cooling

All filled up and no leaks so far but will need to drain down again to change the hose joiners in the bottom hose as the only ones I had were a bit small. Graham

    LR/RR Hybrid cooling

Update, radiator fitted and plumbed in, bottom hose was still a bit of an epic fit but got there in the end, modified RR bottom hose a U bend and a bit of straight silicone, fan installed and wired up, been sorting the fuel pump into the tank, fitted now ready to wire up, pipework in place just...

    LR/RR Hybrid cooling

Price looked pretty good and I've used them in the past so I went ahead and ordered it along with a bottom hose to help with the installation, I've already got a variety of adaptor hoses and silicone so hopefully I'll get it to fit! Graham

    LR/RR Hybrid cooling

Thanks just had a look and it would appear to be a viable unit, wonder why mine has the straight pipe, then again mine seems to have been a bit of a changeover model, one of the last with the lights in the grill and fastenings a mixture of unified and BS threads which always made for interesting...

    LR/RR Hybrid cooling

Thanks for your input but my problem is the shape of the bottom hose stub which points directly at the v belt so there's no space for a bend in the hose to clear the fan belt, the series rad is much narrower than a 90 cross flow one, I have seen pictures of series radiators whith the bottom hose...

    LR/RR Hybrid cooling

Here we go, not a lot of room to get a good angle, if the bottom connection was angled down a bit and towards the off side a bit I guess I could get something to fit and I'd likr the connections to be a bit bigger so as not to restrict flow, ideally the top hos stub needs to be a bit over to the...

    LR/RR Hybrid cooling

I'm now at the point where I need a radiator, engine runs after replacement ignition amp fitted, brakes all plumbed up and bled, gearbox tested with a jury rig of assorted plastic pipes and a garden hose for cooling! The rad which came out has a straight bottom hose connection facing towards the...

    Classic Brakes not bleeding

Always living life on the edge! Sorry about the name spotted the Alan just after I clicked send! Brakes work fine now but looks like the ignition amp is dead, was just about to move it for the first time under its own power and the engine died, been through all the checks and looks like it's the...

    Classic Brakes not bleeding

Pressure bleeder every time especially when starting from scratch or doing a fluid change, so much easier and pretty fool proof! Graham

    Classic Brakes not bleeding

All sorted now, problem was a blockage in the banjo connection on the M/C, stripped and cleaned and all good now, tried to loosen the switch but it cracked so didn't persevere, hopefully it still works. Graham.

    Classic Brakes not bleeding

Main difference between 86 and 87 seems to be the prv for the rear brakes is different and whether it's the upper or lower pistons in the front calipers are the primary, 86 it's the lower and 87 it's the upper, as I have the cylindrical prv and tee piece I went with the 87 set up so upper...

    Classic Brakes not bleeding

Hi Tom, yes I saw that in my manual but I think that only applies to pumping the brakes to bleed not with a pressure bleeder, the drivers side bled fine as did both rears, I'll dodge the showers tomorrow and crack off the pipe at the M/C and see if anything comes out with the pressure on, if not...

    Classic Brakes not bleeding

Been spending the last few days dodging showers to get my brakes plumbed in and bled, all new brake pipes and flexibles fitted to overhauled calipers, rear brakes bled fine, when I got to the front brakes couldn't get anything from the lower pistons of the nearside caliper, upper pistons bled OK...
