It is in a specialist to get a chassis change at the moment so can't remember the exact milage , it is either 244000 something or 246000 something so split the difference. Apart from the chassis corrosion problem it always starts and has never missed a beat over the last 2-3 years since I have...

Cheers Mick, I keep adding more stuff to my list, more to do with want than need. Scary how it mounts up though.

QUOTE="TorsionBhudda, post: 4368378, member: 117632"]What did you do to yourself to end up with loads scaffolding in your back?
I'm lucky my girlfriend doesn't get a say on how much I spend on the Land Rover although she does moan about the amount of time I spend in the workshop tinkering on it...

Yours sounds as if needs more work required than mine. Due to being laid up after having rods and screws (hope they are galvanised he he !) installed in my spine , I have all day to look for goodies on the internet for my defender (missus constantly reminding me I should set and stick to a...

L/R specialist doing mine said it was just over £2000 plus vat. As I am settling the chassis bill on it's arrival and will see the invoice I will post on here .

Good to know for anyone doing a chassis change in the future. Thanks to yourself and all the other guys who have passed on lnfo on best places to get a chassis. Much appreciated, I'm sure I will be asking lots of questions as the re chassis takes place, even though being done by a L/R specialist...

I was always intending to do the chassis in the future, hand just been forced sooner than later. Suspension all relatively new, just dreading what will be found along the way. Bulkhead has been changed in the past and wings look like they have been done as well. Needs a door / or repair, will...

Hi zeaphod, thanks for the info, but have managed to source one from Britpart and it should arrive next Wednesday, then the fun and games will start finding all the other things that will require doing along the way.

Cheers Mick thanks for the heads up, I 'm talking to the garage tomorrow, probably just wait on a Richards or get one through Britpart if reasonable.

Spoke to Richards but a 10 week wait at moment (wouldn't mind if I could spend the time doing a lot of the hard Prep / removal etc but just had surgery for broken back so very light duties for months & months):(

I can only imagine:eek:, The suppliers who have the chassis in stock have added up to £800 just because there is a quite a lead time at the moment. They all more or less said it's because we have them , either that or wait 6 - 10 weeks'

Here is a couple of photos of rusted chassis, didn't look to bad until poking round with a screw driver etc for MOT. It has been patched numerous times before, Looking forward to be able to post some after photos once the new chassis and some refurb has been done
