where's the breath on the rear diff ???

sorry of my ignorance guys but i can't see how using a pump helps me the problem i have is not being able to get enough oil in the diff not how to get it in

no he ground the old one of completely, but the one i bought sees to be a lot more heavy duty so it looks bigger on the axle

cheers fellas i will try to get al least 1.7 liters in
I think because i bought the heavy duty pan it is slighly deeper than the one that came of maybe i'm not sure the pillock welder ground it of and binned it

Thanks for the response guys but there is a bit of difference from 2.5 litres to 1.7 litres if anybody can point me to a web site that gives the right info.
Or if any body has a 300tdi and fancies changing there rear diff oil and letting me know how much you use
no rush its not dark yet lol

a stupid question i know because under normal circumstances you would fill it until it comes out of the fill hole
However!!!!
I entrusted somebody who was a welder and not much else between the ears to replace my rear diff pan which he did, but the wrong way as pictured...
