I had it looked at by someone I trust, no hazard warning lights, leaking fuel tank, leaking pretty much everywhere in fact, split rubbers, just everything generally wrong, that was a couple of days after it had aledgidly past an mot lol

Good idea, I'll try and get some pics up in a bit. I really do like it and would rather keep it, but it's got to be achievable or it's going to become an expensive garden ornament that rots away, anything in particular to take pictures of?

Yep, I've always done that for any vehicle I've owned, and I'd think even more important for an older vehicle to get rid of particles that may wear off old engine surfaces.

Not saying its definitely better, but if there's no reason against semi synthetic, I might go that route incase its better.

Hmmmm That's put a cat amongst the pigeons, I was considering 5w40 fully synthetic, definitely wasn't going to go mineral. Anything other than cost against either fully or semi synthetic?

Thanks. No leaks, just screaching belts, cracked windscreen, leaking steering box, speedo and fuel gauge not working, that should keep me busy . On the plus side the chassis and bulkhead look good to my untrained eyes.
