    TD5 Air Suspension

Hi David in Spain. We did not touch the SLABS. We just removed the air springs, removed the height sensors and that was it. That was a couple of years ago and so far no problems ... well, err, no problems with the suspension anyway ... we only now have the electrics to sort out, the appalling...

Tyres, which, when, how and what.

I can't say that I have ever had a problem with 'mulga stakes and gibber stones'. The roads here are generally not too bad. Lots of potholes and quite a bit of graded laterite / washboard all joined together with a few bits of good smooth tarmac !

Tyres, which, when, how and what.

It was the tarmac performance of these tyres that I was not happy with ... I never dared to take them off road ! We had a set of 235/70R16's on our Disco TD5. They seemed to wear out very quickly, but that might be because most of our driving is on potholed and broken tarmac. On our Land...

Michelin LTX A/T are often reckoned to be the best in this part of the world.

We have an ARB bull bar on our Series 2 Disco and an ARB winch bar on our Series 1 Disco. They are well engineered and certainly heavy duty. Check out Bull bars bumpers and tire carriers by ARB or products-bumpers

    TD5 Air Suspension

We had exactly the same on our TD5. Our one inflated correctly when we first started the car and was fine until you hit a bump in the road when the suspension would then collapse. We checked the height sensors and the air bags and both were OK. The best that we could think of was that there...

    TD5 Air Suspension

Yes, true, I have two Land Rovers ... the Series 1 Disco has over 300k on unmade roads but still battles on ... the Series 2 Disco is a nightmare. We only have one official LR dealer in country and they are near useless (3 days for an oil change), parts are impossible to get and two years of...

    TD5 Air Suspension

We have a '99 TD5 which had the same problem ... plus plenty more ! Firstly the suspension's height sensors gave up on one side so the right hand air spring pumped itself up to maximum, we fixed that for a few weeks before the whole system decided to 'go flat' whenever you hit a bump. Probably...
