It does sound like heat is the issue, vapour lock?
The weber carb kit comes with an inline fuel filter which sits directly over the manifold. If you have one I'd remove it even just fir safety reasons.
1. Check fuel tank isn't rotting from...
Hi All
This is a bit of a long shot myself and my brother are trying to locate our late dads Land Rover it was sold not long after he passed when we were children, we have found out it has since been SORN and was last MOT in 2019.
its obviously...
When i bought my S2 they had practically no seal left so i would get a cold draft even when shut. I fitted new seals and found it hard to close them. Fitting new seals might remove any loose play.
Replaced the series 3 shocks. The bushes had lasted well but the shocks gave zero damping. I can't say the new kit transformed the ride, it still feels like a leaf sprung series, but it does feel a little more predictable.
Replaced the wing...
Only One spring was found on the seletor, só that explained why it was hard to find first gear. Cleaned a bit (look at all that goo) and added a second spring i had around and seems much easier :)
I agree with the chaps above regarding repairs. Do not be tempted with doing a complete strip down overhaul unless this is really your thing, so many are never finished. Keep as a rolling restoration and enjoy each fix/improvement done as you use it.
A couple of my seals just have plastic fir tree clips that have held well bit I've been meaning to replace them with the specific ones Emberton Imperial sell.
Congratulations on your series 3. I've never seen a snorkle that big 😃. Make a list and get cracking. The first job I'd do is Inspect the chassis and get some protection on it.
I thought that looked perfect for camping, canvas is doesn't sweat like modern tents. Exmoor trim advise periodically using Fabsil and It's satisfying watching the water bead off it.
That's kind! I ran out of proper blinds pop rivets and used the cheap ones. It's on and I think it will be waterproof. Hope so as I'll be sleeping under is in a couple of weeks time...
That will look great with a hood, mine is also a factory light green. Have you got the rear window goal posts? Exmoor trim sell the bits to attach the hood. Pricey, but it does make life easier have the correct parts ready.
I think the main purpose is to reduce the crank case pressure preventing seals/gasket being damaged, venting it into the carb and reducing emissions. I think a faulty valve can upset the idle and running. There's a tiny bleed hole on the top...
An update on servicing the 2.25 petrol pressure control valve PCV.
The rubber diaphragms are easily sourced for MG/triumph, they are made in Britain and appear good quality.
To check the valve you can blow down the the top and check for sealing...
Yes! Exactly! I saw your earlier posts, and have book marked them.
If I don't get the dimension, I'll make it up, must be nearly in line with the gutter.
Incidentally, the aluminium bars that are inserted into the hood, how do they attach to...
not a fan of that size of jubilee clamp prefer the two wire type the jubilee clamps tend to distort the rubber hoses you can get smaller thinner jubilees that would fit better or the correct sized modern spring tensioned clamps ,be careful when...
