Sorry for late reply but people keep having holidays so work has been mad! All sounds interesting. I think my p38 may need a holiday in buckinghamshire soon for a proper look at!

Thanks for the ever useful info. Half the clips are missing on sub box that side so will have a proper look behind that as the speakers in it don't pop any more when I turn the ignition off with the stereo on so may well be a bit green and soggy in it's nether regions!. the tailgate seals looked...

The p38 experience is never dull! Tuesday the heavens opened all night and I went to work with front wipers but no rear as the arm was pointing straight down and sat nav screen was white. luckily everything else worked. Came back to the car 12 hours later in 20 degrees sunshine and as soon as it...

The cap looks fairly new and some twit has used red antifreeze!!!! The return trip saw maximum 60mph occasionally as I was following the chrysler with drum brakes up and down some very steep winding valleys which may well account for the unusually high mpg reading! When I started the engine it...

Yesterday my best friend of many years asked if I fancied a road trip deep into wales to collect a 1953 Chrysler new yorker that has been sitting for a few years and follow him back in it. It was a round trip of about 400 milles, What could go wrong driving a 4.6 p38 with no history and 163000...

Thanks so much for all the information everyone. I am really busy working nights but using p38 every day so no battery problem at the moment. In the last few days the sub has stopped working and the sat navigation disc player is randomly playing so I will have to remove the side trims and...

Thanks for all the replies. I am in Oxford with no off street parking so have to rely on jump pack. Where is the trailer socket as I have a solar panel? I have used it each day and no problem.

I was hoping it would last more than 3 days!. I also can't believe the cigarette lighter isn't permanent live for solar charger as every British car I ever bought has been. Bet that is another millennium " improvement "!!!

Today's experience not so great. Having left the P38 sitting for 3 days the battery was flat. It jump started fine. The sat nav has white screen and disc won't eject. The steering wheel controls don't do anything' Radio works but only half volume. Sub gives loud pop when ignition turns off...
