Possible Earth fault causing Defender TD5 issues.

I'm down south I'm afraid. Bournemouth way.

Do we know where the fuel pump earth is?

One thing that did come out of the tests was a resistance on the thicker ground that runs to the blue termination plug located in the ECU well under the drivers seat. The resistance climbed as headlamps were turned on. Could be a red herring though. Any one know more earth points I could have...

Well the Auto electrician came out, spent three hours on the car and his parting words were 'I have no idea'. Basically he can see no issues with the earth to the ECU, he has oscilloscoped the pots and they are fine he has been over it with a fine tooth comb and can find no real 'fault'. Today...

Unfortunately if only vibration were obvious. It does this intermittently at the 1st ignition switch position. No engine vibration etc. Got an auto electrician coming out tomorrow for a full diagnostic...

Ran continuity checks for all three throttle outputs between the throttle plug and the ECU harness plug. All tested as OK. Humph!

Any Defender TD5 owner in Wimborne area willing to help?

Did a continuity check between the throttle plug and the ECU black plug. all three outputs showed no sign of a drop out. This should mean the cable is OK?

Tested the throttle pot today: B & J are paired, White Purple, 5 volt reference feed - both showed a good feed, just under 5v. D & G are paired, Black Yellow Earth - both showed earth when tested against chassis earth. Other than that I have no idea how to test any further. :( yesterday's...

All done I'm afraid, been and cleaned all the earthing points, renewed the ECU/injector loom yesterday. A little contamination on the round plug at the engine end but other than that nothing to write home about. Checked for chaffed wiring - nothing obvious. :(

Any Defender TD5 owner in Wimborne area willing to help?

I am hoping to track a friendly Defender TD5 owner down in the Wimborne/Ringwood area. I have an intermittent Engine management issue that 'could' be the throttle pedal (see thread: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/possible-earth-fault-causing-defender-td5-issues-240624-2.html ) I could...

Possible Earth fault causing Defender TD5 issues.

had the AA out. Their diagnostics are a bit 'generic'. Basically we have fault codes 091,092,093,094,113,120 Anyone in the Wimborne/Ringwood area fancy joining me for coffee, lunch and some tests with their working accelerator pedal before I have to go down the route of expensive 'suck it and...

Possible Earth fault causing Defender TD5 issues.

Just found a good link on here re. The MAP sensor. Is this just wishful thinking that it could be causing this problem? My thinking is that this is happening before the engine cranks and fires (or compresses - diesel) so my thinking is that fuel, and other issues wouldn't effect the process. I...

Tomorrow we get the RAC out to put a computer on it... I gotta feeling all it going to say is what it said months ago when this happened... 'Throttle fault'.
