I'd definitely be looking at the wiring harness to the sensor. There's a couple of inches of wire from the connector plug itself that isn't taped in the loom, the plastic coating gets brittle over time and cracks then you get moisture ingress...
I scanned through this and my advice would be to definitely not buy one based entirely on the responses from the OP.
He's already decided it will be a nightmare so I don't see why you'd go into it like that. Hang on to your Subaru!
Hi mate I have a sdv6, with turbo issues started to remove in situation, but run across other issues so pulled motor in the end, but believe it can be done if by removing turbo, I watched a couple of YouTube vids where someone was doing this...
What are the codes that you got? I think you might be looking too deep into the issue here. We had similar on ours a few years back, it's not the always the sensor but quite often the wiring to it, there are repair kits available for that...
A friend of ours has a small issue with her D4 and it seems that the actuator is stuck. I've not worked on the turbos on our D4 (yet) so I'm wondering if any of you fine lot can offer any advice before I dismantle the wife's one to see what I'm...
I just fitted a 13 pin unit to the wife's D4, I bought it as "used but unopened" so effectively new and paid less than £80 for it. They are available new from around £120 -£130. I'd only use something like that on a late car and then code it so...
I had a couple of 530d E39s and they were both brilliant, only issue I had was a MAF on of them aside from that absolutely nothing. I will concede that the 530i was my favourite though, less torque, less fuel economy but far and away a better...
I think you can see what I am thinking but those horns take up a lot of space. There's just about room behind the fuel filter and above the chassis leg. Need to make up a bracket to attach the arm to the bulkhead. Compressor will sit inside the ring.
2.7PSI ain't gonna lift a bicycle let alone one of those :-)
Not sure there's too much in it between the iCarSoft and Launch but it will depend on which ones of course. I've got a few different ones.
The compressor should be running, I don't...
I'll call it: Split inlet manifold.
LR Dealer just going to throw parts at it and replace everything.
As Jon says, get a code reader and see what the car actually thinks the issue is. I'd put money on "P023D-22 Boost sensor correlation Bank...
Coming at it from a slightly different angle, I would expect it to show a compressor fault if it wasn't pumping air rather than the pressure is static when filling. Not had it personally but I know the air tanks can rot out on these (usually at...
Great response, I definitely asked for that one.........!
Truth be told, I have done nothing about it for weeks. Head in sand etc.
So much wrong with the old girl, all interlinked. Air Conditioning stopped a year ago, took it to main dealer...
This might sound like a sh**y response, it's not meant that way but you need to help us to help you.
What have you done in these weeks to start to diagnose the issue? What codes are you getting for this? There are a lot of interlinked...
Hi, as some of you said, I couldn't find the hard plastic seals for the secondary pistons, I found a good used modulator from 1998 and took it. The part looks good and there is no dirt inside, I think I got a good deal. I removed the washers and...
A friend of mine washed the key for her Discovery in a pair of trousers so it did a full cycle in the machine. Would you believe it is no longer working? I have the licence for her car on Gap so we got some cheap keys off eBay and it won't...
The mess of that tells me it's been like it for quite some time, the seller may not have known what the issue was but I'd bet he knew there was one as he knew how to drive it to lessen the impact. Sorry man, that's sadly the way too many people...
Looking again this morning, is all of that mess only on one side of the engine? If it is, I would be putting money on a split manifold here, that is a LOT of oil and soot there so I don't think it's a recent failure, I expect it's been like it...
Hey guys.
Thank you so much for pitching in here. Car is going in for an inspection next week.
I have attached the full error.
@Blob Yes, I now realise that I was not looking at the fuel injectors. Shows the depth of my mechanical knowledge...
Ok, great, you're in a good place now as you have the detail. This is almost certainly a boost leak so start with the easy stuff, pull these two pipes off and inspect them thoroughly for splits, it's a quick easy test you can do:
If they look...
Been there a few times.
The pictures aren't of the injectors though, that's the fuel rail.
OP, grab the full text from the code please; I'm fairly sure that it will say something like "boost correlation issue" which is where you have a...
L320 RRS I would think based on the signature and the fact that it has the wishbones.
I did this job on the wife's D4 a couple of weeks ago. I'd heard that a recip saw was the best thing to use so I bought some decent blades and went at it...
