I have an update on my 2007 Rangerover sport 2.7 diesel.
I stripped down the top of the engine and replaced all four camshafts from a donor engine that had cracked its crankshaft.
Comparing my camshafts with the donor camshafts I found that...
Take the plenum off under the bonnet and you'll be able to see the door motors move when you unlock the car, if it's one of those I expect you'll quickly diagnose it.
Pull the rubber seal off,
2x 13mm nuts (yellow arrow)
Vent door mechanism...
I'm confused, which car does the OP have? Evoque, Vogue (assuming L322) or the old Facebook Marketplace favourite "Vouge or Jeep" which frankly could mean anything on there.
Drums in the centre of the discs. Exactly the same as my facelift 3.6 and I had no issue at all. I can't see that I'm doing anything different to what I did before or what is in this detail, Kermit's description or any video I've watched! I...
I did 20 years in insurance, the type accident you are talking about would be investigating mechanical failure by a police forensic investigation team in the absence of any other reasonable explanation and even if one old air spring failed...
I did the NSF one a few weeks ago and I did say at the time the other one's bound to go soon. So on that point I have to agree with you!
I'm not totally convinced that they need to be changed in pairs really, manufacturers will always say...
On Saturday I changed the discs, pads and parking brake shoes as well as flushing the brake fluid. I also repainted the calipers while there ahead of the long awaited wheel refurb that it so desperately needs.
On Sunday morning I decided to...
MOT passed at lunchtime. The tester had to block one side of the exhaust with a cloth to get a good reading for the emissions. The 4.4 TDV8 emits virtually fresh air, I am going to write to the DVLA with this evidence and I expect an apology and...
Loving these warmer lighter evenings. Did a quick service on the RR last night, (Oil, Air, Pollen, Fuel filters).
MOT today and then this weekend will be new discs and pads all round, parking brake shoes, rear shocks, transfer box and diff...
Went take some pics of that stashed p38 I been thinking about. Building next to it has either been hit by a lorry or exploded, all covered in police tape, p38 is gone it’s just a space of no grass with two drag marks. Take it she didn’t survive 🥲...
There is one of those newish MG SUV type things around here and the owner has bought all the individual letters to spell out
M O R R I S G A R A G E S across the bonnet. That's a lot of letters, goes almost edge to edge across it.
You'll end up with a white border around the frits (that is the official name for the little dots that join the black and clear glass BTW) and it'll look garbage like all aftermarket tints (in my humble but unswerving opinion of course). Factory...
finally here we are! not yet 100% but in the meantime it's on the road!! now I've disconnected the air conditioning compressor because it started to make noise, when I have time I'll disassemble it, the fabric of the headliner still needs to be...
I just go with a decent set of pads and disks and keep the wheels clean (like hell I do) but then we mostly do longer drives with less braking so the brakes last longer where we are. I had to change the Volvo pads after 8yr because they rusted...
I'm planning on a bit of a friction refresh, front discs have a little lip on them, pads are about 1/3 left everything and looks tired so I reckon it's time for new discs, pads, parking brake shoes and a fluid change as well as a bit of a caliber...
Fix it.
If you like the car, get a subframe and do it or get it done. I'm a firm believer in better the devil you know. Look seriously at the cost of this repair against the cost of changing the car, what will you get for yours? What faults...
In a bid to reduce my road tax and congestion charging bills, I've cleverly disguised the car as part of the Japanese Imperial Navy. Does anyone know how you get the diplomatic plates? eBay? Doesn't need to have the D dropped, I'm not that...
Looks like it, people tend to disappear once their problem is 'resolved'. In this case it was either fixed or "fixed" as suggested in the first post :-)
Get yourself a set of fibre loops and start unplugging the units and bypassing them. If it starts working, that one is/was your weak link. Unless it's the amplifier I think, fairly sure nothing works without that but someone will be along to...
I was a bit cross at lunch when I saw an old Vauxhall Corsa in the electric parking bay at my local Sainsbury's at lunch time. I assumed it was there because it's right by the shop door and all the parent and disabled bays were occupied with...
I'd definitely be looking at the wiring harness to the sensor. There's a couple of inches of wire from the connector plug itself that isn't taped in the loom, the plastic coating gets brittle over time and cracks then you get moisture ingress...
