    Very angry tratter boy !

Mrs Blip's trattor only gets cleaned once a year, and that's the valet the LR dealer do during the annual service. This year they didn't even bother doing that properly, and at £450 for a dealer service we won't ever be going back there! I remember when it had new car smell. For about a day...

    Stuff

Weird, because it was supposed to be one of the main differences between the GS and ES. I think the other extras were aircon as standard and a vanity mirror with little lights! Possibly CD player too? Cheers Blippie

Why are free landers known as gay landers?? (this should be fun)

Are you sure you are not muddling them up with Discoverys? Cheers Blippie

    Stuff

You can pick up cargo nets much cheaper but avoid the really cheap ones, they only last a year or two before stretching out of shape. Our LR ones are still good after a decade. Cruise control was standard on the ES model in the pre-face lift generation. Cheers Blippie

Why are free landers known as gay landers?? (this should be fun)

Well, I'm not really keeping count, but repairs on our ten-year-old TD4 are less than a grand, whereas in five years I spent £5,000 on my old 90, and in two years I've spent £2,000 on my 110. That works out as a grand a year for my Defenders and just £100 on the Freelander... And the TD4 is the...

He was one of my lecturers at uni. Great chap who taught us that archaeology wasn't about places or things, but the landscape that they are within. Cheers Blippie

    Should I buy a Defender 110 Utility . . .

At work we initially had a small fleet of Navara pick ups but they didn't last long. Soon returned to the green oval! Cheers Blippie

    Horn/Radio problem

Changing the rotary coupler isn't a hard job with a Haynes manual. Did this on our TD4 in March and the longest bit of the job was waiting for airbag capacitors to doze off after disconnecting battery. Cheers Blippie

L-series starting problem - glow plug & engine management fuses blow

Thanks, I'm trying to remember if I changed the glowplugs with cheapo or genuine parts some years ago, and would a dodgy glow plug contribute to this. I'll grab my multimeter and have a play at the weekend. Cheers Blippie
