What have you done to your Freelander today

Right! and it appears that there are no repair plates out there which could be welded in (rear arches for example). My front wheelarches are gone, so im buying those new somewhen. There is also some rust on inner part of rear arches, and since you cant replace them, I will try to fix them...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Today I prolongide the life of my freel2 sills (Is that how you call them in english?). Not fully rusted away, but since winter is coming, i thought that i should have a look. And rust there was! Although it is very tempting to just buy some ''magic rust stopper'' that claims to stop rust from...

    Freelander 1 Tailgate handle

And if your fix is not permanent, you can get brand new handles in Polish version of ebay ''allegro.pl''. Mine was totally broken, the cheapest one I could find was around 200 EUR, but after tons of searching, managed to get a brand new one for 55 eur from poland.

    Freelander 2 (LR2) hdc fault

Get the codes read, but i would suspect that one of wheel spin sensors is not working. Had the same problem, replaced the sensor, no luck. Replaced the bearing - no luck. Then I realised that the bearing was not pressed in fully, removed the assambley, pressed it in properly and problem solved...

FL2 HDL fault - ABS sensor?

False hope. After 80km, my 3 friends came back again on a straight road, cruising at around 70kmph. Haven't yet done the diagnostics since my friend with reader is down with covid now. But I am very sure it is again left front wheel speed 0, and it is veeeery unlikely that 80km after supposed...

Freelander 2 TD4 'Misfiring' at random!

Kinda sorta. I havent had a single jerk since I put back my OEM sensor, which I had replaced with crappy Valeo one. I did order another OEM one from scarp yard, and im carrying it with me in the car. It has been around 1000 km, all seems to be good. Might be a bad connection previously, but I...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 front bearing replacement

Not really looking for advice, I will just share my experience with replacing front bearing hub. Before doing the job myself, I tried searching for instructions, but couldn't find any - it seems like in UK you change the whole assembly. And that could be the best option to be honest. Long story...

FL2 HDL fault - ABS sensor?

Fixed - It turned out to be the front left bearing. The ABS ring wasn't damaged, but it was all covered in small metal particles, some oil and rust. Bearing replaced, now freelander rides like new, even the whining noise that I thought was my rear differential is gone.

FL2 HDL fault - ABS sensor?

Some help needed, otherwise im left in the dark. Since putting on a new ABS sensor to my front left wheel didn't solve the ABS issue and even after deleting the faults they came right back, I started to think of 3 possible problems. A) Bad wiring harness B) Bad ABS ring on bearing C) Bad ABS...

Am I being daft getting a freelander?

I guess it will all come down to the condition of the car you buy. We bought a freelander 1 13 years ago with 70 000km on clock. This year it reached 340 000 and still in a reasonably good condition, without serious troubles. Very reliable, parts are quite cheap, and the car is also pretty...

Freelander 2 TD4 'Misfiring' at random!

Update on misfire/jerking. After spending 3 days in shop, they were not able to fix the issue, and with Valeo crankshaft sensor I had previously replaced, the car stalled within first 5 minutes of driving. So I asked them to put back the old OEM crankshaft sensor (That i had replaced) and spray...

FL2 HDL fault - ABS sensor?

As promised- an update on my 3light situation. Did the diagnostics, and as I had suspected - it showed that front left wheel ABS sensor had failed. With that there was another fault - U0418-68 (Invalid data received from the brake system control module), but I suspect that this fault was caused...

    Freelander 2 Torque Steer

Had a pretty bad torque steer on my 2008 Freelander 2. In a period of two weeks it went so bad that I didn't even want to drive the car since on bumps or accelelration the car would just start to steer in one direction. When first noticing a slight torque steer, I checked every single bushing...

Freelander 2 TD4 'Misfiring' at random!

A small update. Left the car at the nearest workshop for two days (first impression was that they are only good with oil changes and brake pad replacement). Two days without any info, so I decided to call them. They replied that they had read the faults today and regarding the ''jerking''...

Freelander 2 TD4 'Misfiring' at random!

Thanks nodge, been going through web for hours, read all the treads on freel2 forum, it seems that there is not definite cure either from Land Rover or anyone else. Will wait for what the current shop will say after reading the codes and doing the inspection, but after going through many pages...
