Thanks for your reply. At the moment i have a standard 88 and have a set of 24spline half shafts for a series vehicle (similar to those made by ashcrofts) and 1 24spline diff is available locally to me (they don't come up that often). so if i had 2 24 spline diffs i'd be up for swapping both...

Probably a silly question to all you how know your stuff, but.. if i wanted to run stronger half shafts in a S3 that happen to be 24 spline, would it work if i fitted a 24 spline diff center into the standard s3 diff, using the standard crown wheel etc? ie what part of the diff makes it 4.7 or...

I'm new on here and have has a S3 88 for a few years and D2 for slightly further afield adventures. after finding loads of useful info on here finally though i should be signing up. Cheers
