Thats my thinking, did a 1.8 clutch on a drive in a morning before. Pretty cheap to do too. Whats the 1.8 like driving compared to the TD4? I drove one years ago and remembered thinking it was actually quite nippy.

Positive this will be a pump timing issue. Been here on several L-Series engines. Releasing the fuel pump cam bolts and adjusting 2mm either way makes a hell of a difference.

Dont bother with the MAF mate, as chaser says it only sends a signal to the egr. The best thing to do with the egr is to remove and bung up the vacumn actuator pipe! I fitted the synergy vp-l from roveron to my old L-series, it made a great deal of difference, much more poke, just needed a...
