Just gave that test a go - slight chatter in neutral, no worse with the clutch down. Tried double-de clutching - no improvement. I think its just showing its age!

Fett - Had it a year now. Just seems to have got worse recently. Didn't notice the oil leak before now, thought it may be coincidental... JM - thanks for the explanation - should I look to replace the gearbox before long or just accept it as it is? I have looked at a couple on ebay earlier...
