Evening all, I'm trying to find a suitable oil for my 06 TD4. Haynes states 5w30 to ACEA A3/B3 but I am working in Spain right now and cannot find anything suitable. What's more important - 5w30? Or ACEA A3/B3...?
Any help gratefully received, thanks

Thanks for the response. Done 120k. Not sure about the design of turbo, but it's a standard Freelander from 06 - one of the last before Freelander 2 was rolled out so I assume it's the more modern of the 2 designs. But then I know all about assumption being the mother of all...
I'll have a look...

Evening all
I'm looking for some advice on this: my 06 TD4 recently started running on for a few seconds when the ignition was turned off. Then it started rough running occasionally and then finally cut out. I changed the crankcase breather filter which was absolutely disgusting (despite the...

It's worth putting some Dynamat or other sound deadening stuff in there whilst the door panels are off. I upgraded the speakers to Infinity Reference series and they sound AWESOME!

Thanks for all the replies...!
I always wondered why the Dukes of Hazzard were always running away from the police - now I know! Maybe if they'd put a switch under the bonnet, they could have changed the horn to a single tone and they wouldn't have been in so much trouble all the time...

Hellooooooooooo
Does anyone have a copy of the Freelander wiring diagram?
Or, better than that, the workshop manuals on CD?
I'm looking at installing a new horn (Dukes of Hazzard style!) and need to find some spare wires!
Many thanks

Hello All
Anyone tried one of these diesel Power Boxes?
http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/stoppress/powerbox.htx
They have a good write up on a TD5 in Land Rover Enthusiast magazine but wondered what the general consensus is for the TD4. I don't imagine that Land Rover would be too chuffed if...

They are different to that. There is a strip of plastic which looks like it is clipped in place down the centre of the handle. I guess that it just needs pulling out, but I'm not sure the best way to do it without damaging it. I tried putting a small screwdriver in there but I could see the...

PS Doesn't anyone know a Land Rover mechanic? If no one replies soon, I'm liable to cause some damage...

Hello all
Anyone know what's the best way to remove the internal door handles on an 06 3 door Freelander? The rest of the door card is easy to undo (using a torx socket) but the door handles hold it in place. The handles have a plastic bit down the middle which looks like it clips in place and...
