    Routine Maintenance on the 90

Advice for people newly taking up self maintenance and servicing is a common topic and attracts sometimes variable and conflicting advice. As you must be aware there are a LOT of landrover forums so I suggest you look at as many as possible and search under a number of suitable topics. Yes, I'm...

Toad alarm problem - possible theft attempt?

If you have the ultrasonics option, have you checked for cobwebs round the sensors. given the number of fiddly key combinations to set these alarms up the software must be a bit of a effort. Now who has heard of fault free software? I think an occsional complete reset is nota bad idea.

    The weather at biling

I spent the downpour in the APB tent. thanks chaps. Some guys were fitting a 90 with a roofrack outside, then later on one of the staff had to start clearing the demo 110 rack as it looked like that was sold too to someone who wouldn't wait. After it slackend risked going over to the RRR stand...

    Back door lock...

For future reference for anyone else with the problem it is just a little spring inside that breaks. In a working lock the end of the spring projects by the locking lever. You can take it apart by drilling out the rivets. Make a new spring from a bit of spring wire from an old toy or clicky ball...

    Defender Dashboard

Is setting No4 fast or slow, I don't have AC. If slow maybe the resistor is burnt out, if fast seems likely the wire has fallen off.

    ECU has to be returned?

He probably got the new one on an exchange basis, not necessarily from LR. For other electrical stuff there are often places that do refurbished units, but they have to insist on the old unit to keep the supplies going. You might want to take the chip out for your new unit. Have a word with the...

    Dipped Beam Always On

They are actually very easy to repair. Normally the two transistors have overheated. The later version ( mid 90's) is smaller, has a different plug, and is not so simple to repair. Why bother? well I don't like putting main beam on just because it's a bit overcast, but if you put the sides on...
