    Britpart wheel box/wiper spindle

Hi, I would not fit Britpart wheelboxes as the amount of work to change them only to have to change again within a very short time. I have changed mine and would use genuine parts every time. I am a mechanic by trade but that is just my opinion. I have used a lot of Britpart items in the past...

    Safety recall N706

I have had a look on the web and it looks like they use the two bolts that hold the radius arm to the front axle and the other end just hooks around the bolts that hold the swivel to the axle tube, Not a proper fix but it might catch the wheel if the weld fails then what?

    Safety recall N706

I have a look under the vehicle and they have had an impact wrench on one bolt and because it did not come out they left the job, A poor attempt, no WD 40 ore even the use of a wire brush. A case of all the gear and no idea ! they might be good with a laptop but when it comes to basic...

    Safety recall N706

I am going to look under and I will see if they had a spanner on the bolts. I asked who was going to pay for the bolts as I am not & was told they will be covered under the recall. When I took the vehicle in they said they had ordered new bolts because they have had this problem before, Now they...

    Safety recall N706

Hi, I have had a phone call from my local dealer to say they can`t get the bolts out of the axle. It will have to go back in next week as they have had to order a new set of bolts & they will have to cut the old bolts off with the gas axe. I don`t think they have even looked at it. They have had...

    Safety recall N706

It sounds like you are on the side of the stealers my friend. As a mechanic I have only ever used an impact wrench on wheel nuts (wagons tractors etc) I would never use on regular nut & bolts, the best way of rounding off, & then they have to be cut out, Plus you have got no feeling how tight...

    Safety recall N706

Yes nylock nuts should be changed but you can get away with using them again once with no problem. It is just a money making exercise.

    Safety recall N706

I have today put my defender 2.4 puma (2010) in to my main dealer for recall N706. I was asked if the vehicle had been wax oiled to which I told them it has been undersealed every year & they have said getting the bolts out of a vehicle that has been wax oiled/undersealed has been a problem & I...

    puma wipers

Hi, As a retired plant fitter by trade & 66 years old, I have also had a stroke. This was still a pig of a job. I have been told the puma is the hardest one to do ( not that I want to do it again ) But it is all back in one piece now.

    puma wipers

Hi, this is my first time changing a land rover defender puma wipers. I am told it is the hardest one to change as there is a lot more to come out just to get the dash to move. I have not done any of the other models so I would not know. Just going off what I have been told.

    puma wipers

    puma wipers

Yes it did not cost much for the parts, But it is a lot of work to change them. After doing it once it would not take as long the next time.(not that I want to do it again)

I think you are not far wrong. I have not had a vehicle I have had to change as much stuff on.
