The EGR was blanked of years ago and the MAF is therefore redundant on the EDC system (plugged/unplugged absolutely no difference)

HI Ben,
Did you get any further with this ?
I'm experiencing the same problem but not just when under load. Even in neutral as soon as the revs reach 2000 to 2500 rpm the engine check flashes on and revs drop back to idle. A quick push on the pedal and the light goes out and we're back to...

Given that the shock are pressured up and ready to fit I didn't want to disconnect the reservoir, so internal solution was not viable.
In the end I tucked the rear ones up under the floor plan behind the sill and the front ones in the engine bay (RH - just below servo, LH in space next to bottle...

Hi
Just about to fit a set of Terrafrima remote reservoir adjustable shocks to a Discovery 3OOtdi.
Has anyone got a recommended place to fit the rear reservoir? There is plenty length on the hose but I'm looking for a area where it won't be too exposed yet easy to access to adjust. It looks...

Could also be the auto transmission overheating. If the oil smell is ATF it is quite distinctive (sickly)

Thanks - I'll check tonight. Do you know if this is a threaded connection or a push fit?
It must be well tucked away so not sure I'll be able to get a spanner on it if I can't even see it.

I'm getting pressure building up in the auto transmission - ATF dipstick comes out a couple of cm by itself.
I guess there is a breather blocked but I can't find where it comes out of the gearbox. Can anyone advise so i can clean it out?

I had one of these on my first D1. To be honest it lasted about a week before it was bent and eventually binned. It was fitted to a Dixon Bate that was also a pain. The both acted more like a plough than anything else when off-roading. If you use your D2 offroad I would think twice before...

We just replaced the front coil springs - no work whatsoever on the rear suspension or the height sensors. Battery was connected the whole time.
With doors / bonnet shut, engine running and left window open I can hear the solenoids clicking but no sound of compressor itself. The rear end stays...

Hi, yesterday we set about replacing the front coils on the TD5. We run out of time and left the front end jacked up +axle stands over night,
significantly higher then the rear. Finished the job this morning but for some reason the rear air bags now refuse to raise the rear at all. I wonder...

My 300tdi auto was off the road for almost a year following problems with the transmission. Having finally replaced the gearbox with an exchange unit from Ashcrofts I was looking forward to running the Disco again. However, I'm really disappointed with performance. I have a large Allisport...

Hi,
Just returned from scary moment off-roading having lost reverse gear altogether high up in Spanish mountains. First sign of trouble was when kickdown cable (replaced a couple of months ago) suddenly appeared jammed again as pedal wouldn't travel beyond half way. No real issue because the...

Yes, I'm going to remove the sump this weekend to see if there is anything obviously wrong. Given that the cable is blocked solid and gap C on the above diagram is currently 3mm the throttle valve itself is maybe stuck closed. All forward / reverse gears works ok. but I'm lacking any power...

Hi,
The kickdown cable on my 300tdi autout EDC appear to have seized. The accelerator only has half its normal travel. On closer inspection the top cable on the follow diagram movers freely to pedal when disconnected at point 2 from the arm. However, the lower / kick down cable doesn't move at...
